Project Description
Mengibar engineered a Complete Puck Line for Hot Fill Stick Deodorant and Antiperspirant, operating at 300 bottles per minute. The complete scope of the project included:
- Automated Bottle Sorting & Inserting into Pucks
- Bottle priming
- Bottom and Top Filling (Hot)
- Cooling tunnel
- Snap-on Capping
- De-pucking
- Automated puck management system
This fully integrated solution ensures maximum performance, consistency and efficiency for stick deodorant production using pucks.
What was Client's need?
This Stick Deodorant and Antiperspirant Puck Line was designed as a multi-product line, capable of processing different product formulations (including alcohol-based deodorants and antiperspirants) on a single line. The project required compatibility with:
- Three bottle sizes
- Three different puck formats
One of the client’s main priorities was to achieve fully automated puck handling, eliminating any manual manipulation. No operator should touch a single puck throughout the entire process, including changeovers and the storage and selection of different pucks.
This demanded a reliable, hygienic, and high-speed automated puck handling solution.
How did Mengibar solve it?
Mengibar designed a complete Puck Line with the capability to perform a quick and effective continuous puck changeover without stopping the line. That was the key to success using pucks in this line. Puck change over time = zero.
The Filling Machine provides an accurate control of the temperature and product flow during the filling operation. Product flow is adjusted automatically to the operational speed, regardless of product viscosity or density. Jacketed product circuit and product product continuous recirculation keep the homogeneity of the product and its temperature to avoid sedimentation and/or crystallization.
Cooling tunnel provides a progressive decrease of the temperature to avoid the risk of thermic shock and the consequent crystallization and product surface crack.
Mengibar designed, assembled and installed the complete puck line for Stick Deodorants and Antiperspirants, ensuring continuous, stable and fully automated production.
